Are there any diet approved snacks? This might sound counter-intuitive, but one of the keys to lasting weight loss is healthy snacking. Snacks help keep your blood sugar levels even. They prevent cravings that often lead to poor food choices and overeating.
However, all snacks are not created equally. Pounding down a king size bag of Doritos is not what I am talking about here. Your body will get much more bang for the buck with some carrot sticks instead of a Twinkie.
Of course, carrot sticks are not at the top of everyone’s list for favorite snack food. They can get boring pretty darn fast. Here are five diet approved snacks that can fit into any diet and taste good.
Diet Approved Snacks
#1 Kale Chips – These melt in your mouth chips are addictive. You won’t be able to stop with just one chip. And they’re so easy to make. Tear washed kale leaves into chip size pieces, about three to four inches. Toss with a tablespoon of olive oil and sprinkle with kosher salt, about ¼ teaspoon. Spread on two baking sheets coated with cooking spray and bake at 350 for 12 minutes. Enjoy! Two cups of these chips is only 60 calories.
#2 Greek Yogurt with honey or fruit.
#3 Apples with cinnamon. This is a great snack for TV time. It satisfies your sweet tooth, but is 100% natural. Simply cut an apple into slices and sprinkle with cinnamon. The cinnamon is an appetite suppressant and a metabolism booster.
#4 Natural peanut butter and bananas. This actually makes a great sandwich too. Put it on a piece of whole wheat bread and you have a very nutritious snack or lunch!
#5 Chocolate Shakeology Berry Blast. Put the following ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Enjoy!
